Melbourne Magic Festival

explosivemedia was instrumental to the successful delivery of the Melbourne Magic Festival (MMF) 2013 and consulted on the best ways to grow the festival. The 6th MMF began with the inaugural and sold out MMF Opening Extravaganza at Darebin Arts & Entertainment Centre – a preview of the two-week festival 1–13 July 2013 at Northcote Town Hall. A feast of dexterity and sleight of hand, the festival attracted more than 10,000 to 175 performances of 40 different shows. It featured special international guest from the USA, Wayne Houchin. Thirty-eight performances were completely sold out and many of the shows moved away from the standard “Magic Concert” format and into the realm of true theatrical productions.

The success of the festival led to a formal partnership between the Australian Institute of Magic and City of Darebin for MMF 2014 and beyond. For festival information visit Melbourne Magic Festival.
